About the Board
The Board of Elections consists of five members that are appointed every two years. Two Democrats, two Republicans, and a Chair (that is appointed by the Governor) have legal and moral responsibility for protecting the will of the people and establishing fairness and equity for all in the process of self governance. This department is the first step in providing efficient, fair, and open elections and has the overall responsibility for the administration of voter registration, the electoral process, and campaign finance disclosure.
Regular monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 2 pm in the Board of Elections One-Stop/Training Room in the Craven County Government Administration building located at 406 Craven Street in New Bern.
