VOTER HISTORY: HISTORY IN ANY ELECTION IS NOT SEEN ON YOUR VOTER RECORD UNTIL AFTER THE COUNTY HAS HAD THEIR CANVASS MEETING FOR THE ELECTION.

About the Board

The Craven County Board of Elections operates under a five member board that is appointed every two years. The board is two Democrats, two Republicans, and a Chair that is appointed by the Governor, effective January 31 (Session Law 2018-146).

The Craven County Board of Elections has 3 full-time employees. The County Board of Elections is State-governed and County-funded. The Office is responsible for all voter registration and elections in Craven County. The right to vote is the cornerstone of American freedom. Your vote counts. Voters should feel that the process is just and be allowed to express their viewpoints through their ballots.

Meetings are held in the Board of Elections One-Stop/Training Room in the Craven County Government Administration building located at 406 Craven Street in New Bern.

NEXT ELECTION: 

TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 2022 PRIMARY ELECTIONS 

Filing begins 12 noon December 6, 2021 and ends 12 noon December 17, 2021

City of New Bern Election will be March 8, 2022 with filing dates:

FILING DATES CITY OF NEW BERN

• If City of New Bern can revise the districts by November 17, 2021, the filing period is noon on December 6, 2021, through noon on December 17, 2021. 

• If they cannot revise the districts by November 17, 2021, the municipality must provide the new districts to the county board by December 17, 2021, and the filing period is noon on January 3, 2022, through noon on January 7, 2022.
