Online Gun Permit Program
Applicants may apply on-line or in our office Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Once an application has been submitted, a mandatory mental health release form must be signed. If applying in the office, the applicant will sign the form at that time. If applying on-line at home, the applicant must come into the office within 5 business days to sign their form. A notary is available to witness the applicant's signature. One government form of I.D. must be presented when signing mental health release form. If the I.D. does not list a Craven County address, the applicant must present a thirty day proof of residency. Bills, leases, and military orders are sufficient proof of residency.
Applicants may apply in our office Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. -4 p.m. or on-line. Once an appointment date has been scheduled, applicants may not come in to turn in their paperwork prior to the scheduled date. On appointment day, please bring all documents with you, including a valid government issued I.D., application, original concealed carry course certificate (new applicants only), concealed carry permits ( renewals only). If the government I.D. does not list a Craven County address, a thirty day proof of residency must be provided. Bills, leases, and military orders are sufficient. A notary is on hand to notarize all concealed carry documents. Please refrain from completing pages in your application that must be notarized.
Beginning the Process
All applicants will receive notification when their permits are available to be picked up. Once notified, applicants may retrieve their permits Monday -Thursday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. A valid government issued I.D. must be presented in order to receive permits. Applicants picking up a concealed carry renewal permit must turn in their previous permit.
